Over on PokerStars PA just over $1.7 million was won across the entire series, while on PokerStars NJ players took away over $641K. Both series ended with exciting Main Event finishes, capping a dozen days’ worth of poker highlights. Winter Series Spin & Go 10 Leader Boards can only be competed in by playing real money Winter Series Spin & Go tournaments. This year’s PokerStars PA Winter Series runs from Jan. 21-31 and features 45 tournaments with guaranteed prize pools totaling more than $1 million.

$200K guaranteed Main Event, $1,000 High Roller among highlights

Both the number of tournaments and the amount of guarantees represent significant increases over the inaugural PokerStars PA Winter Series in Jan. 2020. That series featured 30 events and $675,000 in total guarantees with players ultimately winning over $828,000.

This time around the 45 tournaments have guarantees adding up to just over $1 million.

The $300 buy-in Main Event that starts Jan. 31 has a $200,000 guarantee, double the $100,000 guarantee of a year ago. Last year the event also cost $300 to play and attracted 452total entries to create a prize pool of just over $126,000.

There is also a new $1,000 High Roller scheduled this year for Jan. 27 with a $50,000 guarantee.

Besides the usual full menu of no-limit hold’em, the schedule features a few scattered non-NLHE offerings. These include pot-limit Omaha, no-limit Omaha hi-lo, five-card PLO, no-limit five-card draw, H.O.R.S.E., and 8-game mixed events.

Depositor Freeroll, Second Chance Freerolls return as well

As usual, PokerStars PA is offering a number of satellites, freerolls, and other ways for players to win tournament tickets.

There will be a Depositor Freeroll on Jan. 31. Anyone who deposits $30 or more using the code “FREEZE” before the freeroll starts wins a seat. The tournament will award $10,000 worth of entries into that day’s $300 Main Event.

Throughout the Winter Series there will also be Second Chance Freerolls in which players can win seats to events. Anyone eliminated shy of the money in a Winter Series event earns entry into the Second Chance Freerolls which take place daily throughout the series.
